Poet, creative nonfiction writer, activist, youth educator, workshop facilitator
I am a poet and writer born and raised in Denver, CO. I view most of my work as feminist work. Writing as a queer Black woman, I work to bring light to issues of trauma, disapora and Black relationships to land. I am a Minor Disturbance Denver Youth Poetry alumni and took 4th place alongside my team at the 2014 Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam Festival. I was awarded honorable mention in the National YoungArts Foundation’s poetry section in 2015. I have been published in Rigorous Magazine, Atlas&Alice Magazine, The Journal, Pilgrimage Press, Sage Magazine, Brushfire Literature & Arts and The Hopper Magazine, among others. I released my first chapbook, We Bleed Like Mango, in October of 2017.
